Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients

5 cups flour
1 ½ pkg. yeast
4 Tbsp. warm water
¾ cup shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. baking powder
¼ cup sugar
2 cups buttermilk

Directions

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda, in large bowl. Add shortening and cut in, add buttermilk and yeast mix until all flour is absorbed. Kneed until smooth. Roll out dough and cut. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. *dough can be stored in fridge for 1 week or frozen for up to 6 months. Thaw before use.
