Combine and blend:
2 Cups buttermilk
1 Cup sugar
2 eggs
Beat in sifted dry ingredients
5 Cups flour sifted
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg
Stir in ¼ Cup melted butter
Roll or pat dough ¼ inch thick on floured surface. Cut with 2 ½ inch donut cutter. Fry in hot oil till brown on both sides. Drain and sprinkle with sugar. Makes 2 dozen
