2 cups flour
2 tsp. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
2/3 cups milk
¼ cup shortening (Crisco, margarine or butter)
½ tsp. cream of tartar
Add flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, & sugar. Cut in shortening with pastry knife. Add milk and mix until just mixed. Roll out on to a floured surface about ½ to ¾ inch. Cut and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10–15 minutes. Makes 10 to 12 biscuits.
