Butter Toffee

Ingredients

2 c. margarine (not butter)
2 c. sugar
¼ tsp. salt
2 c. semi sweet choc. chips
1 c. finely chopped almonds

Directions

Combine margarine, sugar & salt. Cook on medium heat until melted. Cook to 285 degrees or until it turns a dark amber color. Cover a baking sheet with foil and pour toffee onto pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and smooth with a knife. Sprinkle nuts (optional). Cool in refrigerator. Break apart & serve.
