1 ½ cups butter or margarine or shortening
½ cup brown sugar
¾ cup honey
¾ cup molasses
1 egg
2 tsp. ginger
1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
1 ½ tsp. allspice
5 cup flour
½ cup boiling water
4 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add honey, molasses, and egg and mix. Add 2 cups flour with spices added to the flour alternately with the boiling water. Add the rest of the flour with salt and baking soda and mix well. Drop by TBS. onto a greased cookie sheet several inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees for abt. 10 minutes or until a good brown color. Cool thoroughly before storing in cookie jar or freezer. Makes abt. 5 doz.–– 3 inch size cookies.
