½ c. butter or margarine
½ c. white sugar
½ c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/3 c. peanut butter
½ tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
½ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1 c. quick oats
Frosting—chocolate
Cream butter and sugars. Add egg, peanut butter, & vanilla and mix. Add flour, baking soda, and salt and mix. Add oats and mix. Spread mixture into a greased 13x9x2 cake pan. Bake at 350 degree oven for 20–25 minutes. Remove from the oven. Frost.
Frosting:
½ cube margarine (¼ c.)
2 TBS. unsweetened chocolate (cocoa)
3 TBS. milk
3 ½ c. powdered sugar (or a little more)
Bring these 3 items to a boil. Pour hot mixture over 3 ½ c. powdered sugar. Beat with an electric mixture. It will be a thin frosting. Spread over the cooked bar when hot and let cool. The frosting can be done when cool.
