Oatmeal Cake

Ingredients

2 c. quick oatmeal
4 eggs beaten
3 c. boiling water
1 c. butter or margarine
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. white sugar
2 2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Boil water and add oatmeal and soak for 20 min. Cream margarine, sugars, and eggs. Add oatmeal mixture and dry ingredients & mix together. Put batter into a greased 13x9x2 cake pan. Bake for 55 minutes at 350 degrees. When you shake the pan the center will move slightly. Frosting must not be forgotten since it makes the cake.

Directions

Frosting:
1 c. butter
1 ½ c. brown sugar
½ c. canned evaporated milk
1 c. nuts chopped
2 c. coconut
2 tsp. vanilla

In a saucepan, add butter, brown sugar and milk and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla, nuts and coconut. Put hot frosting on a hot cake.
