Put 2 c. milk into a blender. Put the rest of the milk into a large saucepan. Add all the other ingredients to the milk in the blender except vanilla and butter. Add the blender mixture to the pan of milk. On medium heat, cook until a little thick, stirring constantly because it can burn. Take off the burner and add vanilla and butter and mix together. It will thicken more as it cools. Very good!!!
