¼ c. butter
1 ½ c. pork (¾ lb.)
1 c. onion––sliced
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 c. celery cut fine
1 c. hot water
1 can bean sprouts–drained
Dry chow mein noodles
Thickening sauce:
1/3 c. cold water
2 TBS. cornstarch
1 tsp. sugar
1 TBS. soy sauce
Cook pork in small pieces. Add onions and fry for 5 minutes. Add celery, salt, pepper. Cover and cook 5 minutes. Add bean sprouts–drained and hot water. Mix thoroughly and heat to boiling. Have thickening ready and add to hot mixture & stir. Serve with chow mein noodles and/or rice.
