6 cups raw tomatoes––scalded to peeled and cut up—(you can use canned tomatoes)
2 cups chicken broth
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
2/3 cup sugar
ÂĽ cup basil
1 ½ cups cream or evaporated milk
1 cup butter
Combine tomatoes, chicken broth in a pan and simmer 30 min. Add basil. Put in blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Return to pan and add salt, pepper, cream, & butter. Heat. It is good to garnish with Parmesan cheese. Delicious with homemade bread.
