1 c. sugar
1 cube butter
½ c. buttermilk (½ c. milk + 2 tsp. vinegar)
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt

Put all ingredients except vanilla & baking soda in a saucepan. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Remove from heat & stir in baking soda & vanilla. (NOTE: baking soda makes it bubble so make sure you have a big enough saucepan — so it won't overflow.)
