Soak 1lb. beans (Navy or Great Northern) over night. I used Pinto and it was good.
Drain and rinse beans, add new water (about double the water in comparison to the beans. Bring to boil (you can add crushed garlic for flavor) cover and reduce heat then just cook until tender (any where from 2–4 hours).
Cook: ¼ lb. Bacon
Add to Bacon: 1 cup chopped Onion
Combine: 1 cup bean liquid, Beans only, Bacon & Onion Mixture in a 2 Qt. bowl
Add the remaining ingredients:
½ cup Molasses
¼ cup Packed Brown Sugar
1 tsp. Dry Mustard (you can add regular mustard if you need)
½ tsp. Salt
¼ tsp. Pepper
Cook at 300° for about 2 ½ hours. Stir Occasionally.
